Our Response to COVID-19

As is well known now, the COVID-19 outbreak has become a severe health emergency. The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) recommends that people continue to follow social distancing to minimize the spread of the virus and cross-infection. However, it is still very important to maintain your health. Our offices are open, and we offer telehealth (virtual visits) so you can obtain care as needed at a convenient time. Certain conditions may require an in-person visit, so contact our office to determine what is right for you.

We continue to follow CDC guidelines and infection control measures as we have done even before the COVID-19 pandemic. Masks and other protective equipment as appropriate are still necessary and worn by all staff and patients. Check the local guidelines and resources here.

Get Tested for COVID-19 at Our Irvine & Fountain Valley Locations

Family Care Centers has been offering two ambulatory COVID-19 testing sites, one in Woodbridge, Irvine, and the other in Fountain Valley. Both our sites are accessible to everyone for all types of COVID-19 tests, including pre-op and travel clearance.

We offer the “gold-standard” PCR test for COVID-19 at both sites, which provides a more accurate diagnosis of whether an individual has the virus in their body. About Pre-Op COVID-19 Tests: Preoperative tests are required for patients who have an upcoming surgery and have been instructed by their surgeon or physician to get a Pre-Surgery COVID-19 Test done for verification that the patient isn’t infected. It is also important to note that after the test, the patient needs to quarantine themselves until their procedure so they do not infect themselves between the testing date and the date of the procedure.

About COVID-19 PCR Travel Test: COVID-19 travel tests are for those who need a COVID-19 clearance for traveling abroad or within the country. Because of the coronavirus spread, many countries and the US states have added mandatory testing requirements, which require a negative viral COVID-19 test for visitors. So, if you are traveling to a country or state that requires a COVID-19 test, you can visit our COVID-19 PCR testing sites for travel in Irvine and Fountain Valley in CA and get tested for a worry-free travel. Even if your destination isn’t mandatorily requiring a COVID-19 negative test result, we still recommend getting a test done before travel so that you can travel responsibly and help slow the spread.

What We Are Doing to Keep Your Visit Safe

We are following CDC guidelines and infection control measures to contain the coronavirus impact and keep you, our staff, and our community safe. Here’s what we have done to ensure everyone’s safety:

  • Daily Screening for Symptoms & Risk Factors: We are doing health screening of all our employees, staff, healthcare providers, patients and all visitors before they enter the office building.
  • Masking Up: We require all staff, patients, and visitors to wear a face mask while they are in our office.
  • Hand Washing: All providers and staff adhere to a strict hand hygiene protocol.
  • Physical Distancing: We follow CDC’s guidelines for maintaining at least six feet distance from each other. For that, we have rearranged our offices, including waiting areas, so that patients, employees, and staff can maintain required physical distance. We are also making sure that symptomatic patients don’t enter.
  • Visitor Restrictions: We have limited the number of visitors who can accompany a patient. For now, only the “essential” visitors are allowed. Keeping our patients safe from COVID-19 must be our first commitment.
  • Hospital-Grade Cleaning and Sanitation Protocol: Our offices, including external and internal areas, are cleaned and sterilized frequently as per strict protocol. For exam rooms, this includes cleaning and disinfecting all devices and surfaces, including exam tables and chairs, computers and keyboards, handles, and every other area that involves physical contact.

Telehealth Services

For the convenience of our patients, we have activated telehealth or “video visit” services for both primary care and urgent care. Our telehealth services allow you to connect with our healthcare providers via video from the comfort of your home. Our goal is to ensure continued access to your providers so that you receive the high-quality healthcare services you need – even in the midst of a crisis like the Covid-19 pandemic.
