Joan Boughey has been practicing in Southern Orange County since first becoming licensed as a Registered Nurse in 1968. She has consistently worked in the area of Emergency Nursing, both clinically and as an Administrator. She returned to clinical practice as a Nurse Practitioner in 1994. She is Board Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She received her Doctorate in Nursing Practice in 2014. At Family Care Centers, she sees patients for Urgent Care and has administrative responsibilities. She enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren. She stays physically fit practicing Yoga and running. "I have been in the field of emergency nursing for most of my adult life. I still look forward to going to work every-day. As a nurse practitioner I have an expanded role that gives me the opportunity to influence the patients I see, by assisting them with their urgent needs as well as educating them in the prevention of illness and injury.”
